My name is Louisa and I live in Malta, an island in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea. I am a mum of two boys, and the creator of tears of green. I'm really glad you're here and I welcome you to my little passion project!
tears of green explores living mindfully and the gentle natural way in which it leads to living sustainably. Here you can expect to find insight to mindful living, as well as practical tips on finding alternatives to single use plastics, reducing waste, learning to get by with less and ultimately, taking as little as possible from the earth, moving in line with a circular economy.
Also, for those of you living in Malta, I will be providing links to places where you can find sustainable alternatives locally, to help make things that little bit easier.
What got me started?
Having grown up in the rural village of Baħar iċ-Ċagħaq, I spent my days running through grass, climbing trees and building treehouses. But since then, much has changed. The construction and traffic in Malta accelerated at the most ridiculous rate and I’ve watched, with tears in my eyes, the deterioration of this beautiful island and the air we breathe. Watching David Attenborough’s documentary last year: ‘A Life On Our Planet’, was a wake up call for me to really increase my efforts towards living more sustainably. It opened my eyes to what’s to come...a reality which we are already seeing unfold, but perhaps are unconsciously (or consciously) choosing not to see. I believe that each and every one of us can make a difference, and the more we work together, the better the results will be.
I hope you may join me on my journey to better living, both for our sake, future generations, and that of Planet Earth. Read on and enjoy!
